Jarrett Hatcher will be graduating in December of 2019 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Texas Tech University. Throughout his time at TTU, he was selected as #9 in the nation for undergraduate conducting, chosen as one of four in Texas to sing in the American Choral Director’s Association National Collegiate Honor Choir, and was elected as the Texas Ambassador for the South West American Choral Director's Association National Conference. Jarrett also served in the TTU Student Government Association for two years as the vice-chair, then chair for the College of Visual and Performing Arts. Along with serving in SGA, he was a student ambassador for three years. Jarrett has also held various leadership positions such as Founding President of Mu Phi Epsilon, President of the Matador Singers, Social Chair for the University Choir, Publicity Officer for the University Choral Department, and as the Secretary for an international leadership fraternity, Omicron Kappa Delta. He most recently finished his course work and received the honor of Dean’s List. Outside of classes, Jarrett served as the St. John’s Children’s Choir Director for 2 years, as well as a choral scholar for 3 years. He taught through a non-profit grant, East Lubbock Promise Neighborhood in an after school program for title-one schools for 3.5 years. His next step in his career is to student teach in Odessa, Texas at Permian High School and Nimitz Middle School.
